This is the personal blog of Ian Ker, who was Councillor for the South Ward of the Town of Vincent from 1995 to 2009. I have been a resident of this area since 1985. This blog was originally conceived as a way of letting residents of Vincent know what I have been doing and sharing thoughts on important issues. I can now use it to sound off about things that concern me.

If you want to contact me, my e-mail is still ian_ker@hotmail.com or post a comment on this blog.

Whose Response Will It Be?

No prizes for guessing the answer.

Simpson said initially that he would support all the LGAB recommendations. Then Barnett announced his grand gerrymander plan for the City of Perth and Vincent.

Presumably the delay in making the announcement is the result of finding a way of letting Simpson save some dignity in the face of the Barnett jackboot.

I'd love to be the proverbial 'fly on the wall' at the 'closed briefing' - not so much to hear the announcement, which we'll all get 'after' 11am (assuming all goes according to plan), but to hear the responses of the assembled Mayors, Presidents and CEOs.

  1. there will not be enough words to express the anger of the public. thank you all for your efforts - a ray of hope and sensible words in this undemocratic mess which was created by using weasel words and fudging rules.

  2. Mayors, Presidents and CEOs.... and three Commissioners.

    1. Logically it should be the presiding commissioner and the CEO for Canning - not all three commissioners.

  3. Looking forward to it, can’t wait. This is the beginning of the internal implosion we have all been waiting for. The end of delays, verbal gymnastics, massaging of facts and the list goes on. May our Chief Justice, God willing, place this into a time capsule for historical perpetuity for future generations to see and learn of failures of the past?
