This is the personal blog of Ian Ker, who was Councillor for the South Ward of the Town of Vincent from 1995 to 2009. I have been a resident of this area since 1985. This blog was originally conceived as a way of letting residents of Vincent know what I have been doing and sharing thoughts on important issues. I can now use it to sound off about things that concern me.

If you want to contact me, my e-mail is still ian_ker@hotmail.com or post a comment on this blog.

If You Don't Like The Result, Change The Rules

Typical ‘Sir Humphrey’ stuff – when Sir H says “with all due respect, Minister”, meaning exactly the opposite. Graeme Mackenzie says he ‘respects the vote’ but then goes on to say it is flawed.
Some people just don’t like democracy, do they – if they don’t get the result they want, they try to change the rules. I doubt he would be saying this if the YES vote had won the day.

Perhaps the problem (for him and Simpson) was that too few people actively wanted the amalgamation to get off their backsides and vote.
How many votes elected City of Fremantle Chief Executive Officer Graeme Mackenzie?
