This is the personal blog of Ian Ker, who was Councillor for the South Ward of the Town of Vincent from 1995 to 2009. I have been a resident of this area since 1985. This blog was originally conceived as a way of letting residents of Vincent know what I have been doing and sharing thoughts on important issues. I can now use it to sound off about things that concern me.

If you want to contact me, my e-mail is still ian_ker@hotmail.com or post a comment on this blog.

WALGA Does Listen - At Last!

I have been very critical of WALGA during the past couple of years - but today it has finally listened to its members and their communities.

Not only has it withdrawn its support for a government that had "failed to articulate its vision for reform", it has called on the Government "to reverse the Governor's Orders as a matter of priority".

Thanks to all those who voted in the polls that helped bring about this 'Road to Damascus' moment.

Now, if we can just get the Parliament to pass a resolution for rescission of the Governor's Orders, we might have a chance of getting back to what used to pass for normal.
