This is the personal blog of Ian Ker, who was Councillor for the South Ward of the Town of Vincent from 1995 to 2009. I have been a resident of this area since 1985. This blog was originally conceived as a way of letting residents of Vincent know what I have been doing and sharing thoughts on important issues. I can now use it to sound off about things that concern me.

If you want to contact me, my e-mail is still ian_ker@hotmail.com or post a comment on this blog.

Kwinana Gets There With Time To Spare. South Perth Surges.

Congratulations to the City of Kwinana Council and the Kwinana community on reaching the target of 50% voter turnout - with time to spare to allow for the non-counting of any invalid votes.

East Fremantle well on track for the same result.

Congratulations also to the City of South Perth Residents' Association (particularly Cecilia Brooke and her small band of helpers) for an amazing kick-up in today's returns that puts them well and truly back on track.

City of Cockburn                      34.30%
Town of East Fremantle          48.07%
City of Kwinana                         50.19%
City of South Perth                   44.38%
Town of Victoria Park              34.42%

Votes still needed for 50% (but remember need to add a bit for invalid votes):

City of Cockburn                          9,717
Town of East Fremantle                101
City of Kwinana                           Done
City of South Perth                      1,506
Town of Victoria Park                 3,137
